Happy 4th of July!

This 4th of July was fun! We kicked off the festivities by going to a barbecue at the McEvoy's. After that we went with the family to see Hancock at Thanksgiving Point.
The crowning event of the evening was Stadium of Fire at Lavell Edwards Stadium in Provo (thanks to Matt's brother, Clayton, and his girlfriend Whitney who hooked us up with wristbands for field-level seats)! Matt was able to bridle his deep-seated hatred for all things BYU and swallow his pride for a couple of hours so we could go. Glenn Beck hosted the event and there were performances by Blue Man Group and Miley Cyrus, followed by an awesome firework show (that showered the whole field with ash!!)!
Matt did get a small amount of gratification at one point during the show. Glenn Beck had arranged through CNN to have a satellite transmission of 3 soldiers in Baghdad so they could talk to their families on the Jumbotron. The last soldier to talk to his family said, as he was closing "To all of you at Lavell Edwards Stadium in Provo, I have one more thing I need to say..", then he lifted up a Utes jersey and yelled "GO UTES!" I think that was the loudest Matt cheered all night.
